Matawan-Aberdeen Schools, BOE Calendar & Meeting Help
The Matawan-Aberdeen Board of Education governs the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, usually shortened locally to MARSD. Families and residents use different district pages for board meetings, the school calendar, registration, transportation, parent tools, jobs and school-level questions, so the quickest route depends on what you are trying to do.
This independent guide organizes the current MARSD routes in one place. For a time-sensitive meeting, revised calendar date, student document or official Board action, reopen the district source before relying on a saved copy or screenshot.
Matawan Aberdeen Board of Education at a glance
The official school district is the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District. Its Board page is the right place for agendas, meeting dates, recordings, members, minutes, policies and public notices. Student-specific concerns usually start with the teacher, counselor or case manager and school administration rather than the Board.

How to check a Matawan-Aberdeen Board meeting record
MARSD keeps agendas, minutes and meeting recordings in separate areas on the Board page. Use the document that matches your task: an agenda for planned business, minutes for the official meeting record after approval, and recordings when you want to hear the discussion.
Open the official Board page
Start on marsd.org rather than opening a standalone document from an old search result.
Match the meeting type
Look carefully for COW, RAM, Workshop, Special, Reorganization or a combined meeting. Different meetings can occur in the same month.
Use the agenda before the meeting
The agenda helps identify scheduled business and where public participation appears in the meeting order.
Use approved minutes afterward
Minutes are the better source when you need the official record of what occurred. An agenda alone does not prove that an item was approved.
Use recordings for context
The Board page links meeting recordings separately. Video can help explain discussion, but it should not replace the official minutes when documenting Board action.
Matawan-Aberdeen Board of Education members
The current Board page lists nine elected members and a student representative. Leadership can change at reorganization, so use the live district page before sending formal correspondence or publishing an officer title elsewhere.

Who should you contact before going to the Board?
MARSD publishes a clear escalation path for student concerns. It asks families to work upward through the district before taking a matter to the Board of Education.
Teacher, counselor or case manager
Start with the person closest to the day-to-day concern.
Principal
Move to the building administrator when the first contact does not resolve the issue.
Director
Use the responsible district department when the issue falls under a specialized program or service.
Assistant Superintendent
Escalate through central administration when earlier levels have not resolved the matter.
Superintendent
The Superintendent comes before the Board in MARSD’s published concern pathway.
Board of Education
The Board is the final step in the district’s published order, not the first contact for most individual student concerns.
Student privacy: keep names, IEP information, medical information, discipline matters, grades and other private student details out of public Board comments. Use the appropriate private school or district channel.
Matawan-Aberdeen school calendar highlights
MARSD provides both a live district calendar and a printable 2026β27 school-year calendar. Use the PDF for broad year planning and the live calendar for current events, Board meetings and school-specific entries.
Live Calendar
Useful for current district events, individual school events, Board meetings and date changes.
2026β27 school-year calendar
Useful for major closed days, early dismissals, marking periods, back-to-school nights and family planning.
| Date | Calendar note |
|---|---|
| Oct. 12, 2026 | District closed for Columbus Day. |
| Oct. 30, 2026 | Early dismissal for students, teachers and instructional assistants. |
| Nov. 5β6, 2026 | District closed for NJEA. |
| Nov. 12, 2026 | Pre-Kβ8 early dismissal for students. |
| Nov. 25, 2026 | Early dismissal for students and staff. |
| Nov. 26β27, 2026 | District closed. |
Emergency-day rule: the district calendar says three extra days are built in for emergency/weather closings. Unused days can affect June closing dates, so do not treat an early copy of the June calendar as final.
Schools in the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District
MARSD serves students through a regional high school, a middle school and elementary schools. For attendance, teacher communication, school events, pickup questions and building-specific notices, the individual school is usually the fastest route.
Meeting-location note: several of these school buildings also host BOE meetings. A school being a meeting site does not make it the district office.
Registering a student in Matawan-Aberdeen schools
MARSD Central Registration is located at 1 Crest Way, Aberdeen, NJ 07747. The district separates registrar contacts for PreschoolβGrade 5 and Grades 6β12.

Documents MARSD lists for registration
Living with someone else? MARSD has a separate domicile-student process. The district says the resident and parent should complete the applicable notarized form and provide the residency proofs requested on the application.
Keep these records private: birth certificates, IDs, residency proofs, health forms and custody-related records should only be submitted through the official MARSD registration process.
Matawan-Aberdeen transportation and bus-stop rules
For the 2026β27 school year, MARSD says bus stops are being placed at centralized locations that can safely serve a significant number of students and reduce route time and mileage.

Young student pickup rule: MARSD says young elementary and Pre-K students must be accompanied to the bus stop and met by a parent/guardian or an adult age 18 or older whose name is on the emergency/pickup list. If an authorized adult does not meet the child, the district says the child will be returned to the attending school.
Transportation waiver and reinstatement
Waiving district transportation
Eligible families that plan to provide their own transportation can submit the MARSD Transportation Waiver Request Form. A separate form is required for each student.
After the waiver is processed
The student is removed from district transportation, and the parent or guardian becomes responsible for getting the student to and from school.
Requesting reinstatement
If circumstances change because of family or economic hardship, MARSD says an otherwise eligible student can request transportation reinstatement under Board Policy 8613.
Wait for confirmation
Do not send the student to a bus stop until Transportation confirms the reinstated bus assignment and stop.
Board records are different from student records
Board records
Use the Board page for agendas, minutes, policies, public notices, legal notices and recordings.
Student records
Transcripts, attendance, health information and other student-specific records should go through the school or appropriate district office.
Public comments
Do not disclose private student information during a public BOE meeting or in publicly posted correspondence.
Meeting correspondence: MARSD’s meeting notice states that correspondence to the Board is reflected on the Board agenda as Correspondence to the Board. Consider that public-record context before including sensitive personal information.
MARSD 2026β27 budget and Board Secretary
The district Business Office publishes annual budget materials, including the 2026β27 Advertised Budget, 2026β27 User Friendly Budget and a 2026β27 Budget Presentation.
Budget records
Use the Business Office page for current and past district budget material rather than a copied third-party number.

Use MARSD for the final official check
BoardofEducations.org is an independent information website. It is not the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District, the Matawan-Aberdeen Board of Education, a school, or a New Jersey government office.
Use MARSD’s live pages when a meeting location, agenda, school calendar, registration requirement, transportation assignment, employment posting, policy or official Board action matters. Those sources take priority if district information changes after this guide is updated.
