First student day: MSCS announced Monday, August 3, 2026 as the first day of classes for the 2026–27 school year.
Do not use the Board calendar as the student calendar. Board Committee Meetings and Business Meetings can appear in the district calendar even when they have no effect on student attendance.

Living in someone else’s home?
Shared-residency cases use additional documentation. The homeowner may need to accompany the parent/guardian to registration and provide two ordinary residency documents unless the verification department approves another arrangement.
McKinney-Vento exception: parents or guardians of qualifying homeless students are not subject to the ordinary shared-residency requirements, and lack of normal documentation must not prevent immediate enrollment when federal protections apply.
