Audition
Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts uses an audition process.
The normal 2026–27 priority/testing window is already past. Families seeking placement now should check the live admissions page for current late-applicant or future-year options rather than assuming a seat can still be requested through a standard transfer.

Important report-delivery transition
Two official BPS communications describe different stages of the transition. The districtwide 2025–26 notice said progress reports would become electronic-only while report cards would continue to be mailed. A newer June 18, 2026 BPS school notice says that beginning in 2026–27, both report cards and progress reports will no longer be mailed. For 2026–27, set up Parent Portal and confirm report-delivery expectations with your child’s school.
Practical action: even where paper delivery is unclear, Infinite Campus is the safest current place to access available electronic reports and monitor grades.

Why another BPS page may mention 14 or 30 days
The general Registration Requirements page contains enrollment grace-period language saying students may have 14 days after starting school to submit immunizations, with 30 days for refugee/out-of-state students. The newer 2026–27 health notice sets a specific September 16 submission deadline for the coming school year. If a child enrolls later or falls into a special category, ask the school nurse or Wellness Supports which legally applicable timeline controls that student’s case.

Do not publish an unverified 2026–27 universal-free-meal claim yet. The currently indexed BPS parent CEP letter still identifies the districtwide no-charge certification arrangement as a 2025–26 school-year program. Recheck the 2026–27 parent/CEP notice when BPS posts or refreshes it.
Summer meals are different from school-year meal status. BPS’s free 2026 summer meal program ran through August 14, 2026 and should not be described as the regular 2026–27 school-year policy.
