Use the KSBA portal for Marshall County Board meetings

The Kentucky School Boards Association public portal provides a much stronger meeting record than relying only on a generic district events page.

📅

Meeting date & type

Regular, special and other posted meetings are identified separately.

📋

Agenda

Open a specific meeting to see presentations, reports, consent items and action items.

📑

Do not convert one meeting into a permanent schedule. Marshall County’s 2026 portal shows regular and special meetings at varying dates and times. Open the exact current posting before traveling.

Public participation

Want to address the Marshall County Board?

Keep comments focused: explain the issue, relevant facts and the action or response you are seeking.

Old Infinite Campus bookmark not working?

Kentucky districts moved to a new Infinite Campus login route around the beginning of 2026. Marshall County specifically warned families to update saved bookmarks after the change.

🔗

Old bookmark

Do not assume a saved pre-2026 Infinite Campus URL is still the correct login route.

🏫

Best route

Open Marshall County Schools first, then use the district’s Infinite Campus Parent Portal link.

🔐

Password issue

Use official login recovery or contact district Infinite Campus support instead of creating a duplicate account blindly.

Security tip: portal credentials give access to private student information. Never enter them into a third-party “school login” page that was not reached through the district.

Food Services

Free breakfast and lunch—but still complete Meal Benefits

Marshall County Schools states that all students receive free breakfast and lunch. That does not make the 2026–27 Meal Benefits Application unnecessary.

🍳

Breakfast

Free for Marshall County students under the district’s current program.

🥗

Lunch

Free for Marshall County students under the district’s current program.

📝

Meal Benefits form

Still important because it can determine additional benefits and helps establish district funding.

1

Log in to Campus Parent

Use the official parent portal.

2

Select More

Navigate to the additional family tools.

3

Select Meal Benefits

Open the 2026–27 Meal Benefits Application.

4

Submit it even though meals are free

The district specifically encourages every family to complete it.

Why does this matter if meals cost $0?

The district says the application helps determine additional benefits and provides funding that supports student programs and school services.

Transportation

Marshall County school transportation and 2026 bus-safety update

Transportation / Facilities Director Allan Smith
Transportation phone 270-527-1481

New Kentucky bus rule: Marshall County’s July 22, 2026 safety notice says Kentucky’s updated school-bus stopping law took effect July 15, 2026. Drivers must stop for a school or church bus displaying its stop arm and flashing red lights from either direction on all roads, with a limited exception for opposite-direction traffic on certain four-or-more-lane roads separated by an elevated barrier or unpaved median.

A four-lane road with only a paved center turn lane is not the same as a physically separated roadway under the district’s explanation. Drivers should use the current Kentucky rule rather than relying on an old memory of bus-stop law.

Bus route question: contact Transportation or the school.
First-week timing: allow for route adjustments and verify school communication.
Address change: update the student’s information before assuming transportation follows automatically.
Same-day issue: contact the school/Transportation directly rather than relying on a generic route list.
Need current transportation staff?

The live Staff directory lists Transportation contacts and current roles.

Attendance & Pupil Personnel

Start attendance problems at the school—not at a Board meeting

Daily attendance questions should normally begin with the child’s school. District-level attendance and pupil-personnel matters can be routed through the Director of Pupil Personnel.

🏫

Daily absence

Notify the school and follow the school’s current absence/documentation procedure.

👨‍💼

District attendance issue

Brent Lovett is currently listed as Director of Pupil Personnel.

Illness: follow school health and attendance instructions.
Transportation barrier: tell the school rather than allowing repeat absences without explanation.
Housing or family hardship: ask the school about FRYSC support.
Attendance record dispute: start with the school office, then use Pupil Personnel when district-level review is appropriate.
Family & Youth Services

Need food, utilities, school supplies or family support?

Marshall County Family Resource and Youth Service Centers exist to reduce nonacademic barriers that can interfere with a student’s ability to succeed in school.

🍎

Food assistance

Family-resource programs can connect families with food support and community resources.

💡

Utility resources

District FRYSC resources include help connecting families with utility-support options.

🎓

School success

Centers support early learning, academic achievement, wellbeing, graduation and transition into adult life.

Closings & emergencies

Calendar PDF vs live emergency information

The annual school calendar tells you planned dates. It cannot tell you whether tomorrow’s classes were changed because of weather, transportation conditions or another emergency.

📅

Annual calendar

Use for planned breaks, work days, holidays and scheduled student days.

🌨️

Emergency notice

Use current district announcements and emergency guidance for closure or schedule-change decisions.

📱

School communication

Watch official school/district apps and school-level communication for student-specific operational details.

NTI/weather changes: recheck current district communication before leaving home, changing childcare or assuming a scheduled makeup day has been activated.

Communication

Use Let’s Talk for district questions and feedback

Marshall County uses Let’s Talk as a districtwide customer-service route for questions, comments, feedback and success stories.

Ask a question

Select the topic or department that best matches your issue.

💬

Share feedback

Explain the situation clearly and provide enough context for the district to route it.

📱

Use any device

The district promotes Let’s Talk for access from computers, tablets and smartphones.

For urgent same-day student needs—attendance, pickup, medication, classroom concerns or a transportation issue—the child’s school or relevant department may be faster than a general district dialogue.

Not sure who to contact?

Let’s Talk is useful when you know the topic but not the correct staff member.

Records chooser

Student record, transcript or public Board record?

You need Best first route Why
Current student’s record Student’s school office / counselor Student-specific records are handled through authorized school processes.
Former student’s transcript Marshall County High School / Board office direction The district does not prominently expose one universal current transcript workflow on its main pages.
Special Education record Special Education / school Disability records require an authorized private process.
Board/public district record District records request / Board office Public district records are different from a student’s private educational records.
Board action KSBA minutes / meeting record Approved minutes are stronger evidence of Board action than an upcoming agenda.

Do not upload student records to a random transcript directory. Grades, birth information, disability records, custody papers and identity documents should go only through verified district/school channels.

Employment
